(Siasat News) Congress M.P’s representing Telangana region met Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram yesterday in New Delhi and demanded for the formation of Telangana state very soon. Telangana M.P’s belonging to Congress party have been meeting the members of the core committee of Congress and the leaders of Congress high command for campaigning the cause of separate Telangana state.
They apprised the Home Minister of the latest political situation in the state. Despite raising the slogan of integrated Andhra Pradesh, Congress met defeat in Parkal (Telangana) and also in Seema Andhra Region. Referring to the success of TRS in Parkal, they told him that in the recently held elections, out of 20 Assembly seats in Telangana region, Congress didn’t succeed even in one constituency.
Congress candidates lost their deposits in 10 constituencies.
The M.P.’s requested Mr. Chidambaram to stick to his promise of formation of Telangana made on 9th December 2009. Later, talking to newsmen, Mr. Poonam Parabhakar, M.P. told that all the Congress M.P.’s of Telangana support Mr. Pranab Mujherji. At the same time they are also campaigning for separate Telangana. He hoped that Govt. of India will declare Telangana state soon.
