Mr. E.A.Ahmed, State Minister of External Affairs, Govt. of India rang up Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily to find out the reaction of Muslim Community about the formation of separate State of Telangana. Mr. Ahmed has been a supporter of the step taken by the Govt. for the formation of Telangana. He telephoned Mr. Zahid Ali Khan and consulted him about the status of Muslim in separate Telangana State and the future consequences since some Muslim leaders had tried to oppose separation of Telangana. Mr. Ahmed wanted to know the real position of the Muslims and the effects of forming a separate State.
Mr. Zahid Ali Khan informed him that the Muslims of Telangana have been demanding for a separate State for the past two decades since their feelings and rights were crushed in the past. He also told the minister that the Muslims of Telangana supported Telangana Movement from the bottom their hearts and said that the bifurcation of the State is favour for Muslims because this community is the most deprived one. Mr. Ahmed assured him that he would support the Govt. for bifurcating the State. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan who is a champion of separate Telangana State, thanked Mr. Ahmed for his support.
