Hyderabad, February 10: TRS MLA Harish Rao has welcomed the formation of parliamentary committee on the issue of waqf properties. He revealed that the parliamentary committee after reviewing the destruction waqf properties of the state can submit an effective report to the government. Forming the committee yesterday speaker has allowed it 6 months time to submit the report.
The committee will review the issue of transfer of government waqf properties to the private institutions in the past.
Harish Rao told that a parliamentary committee was also formed in the past on waqf properties and the committee had submitted its report in two phases but no government paid attention to the recommendations of the committee.
He asserted that the government should be committed to implement the recommendations made by the parliamentary committee otherwise the purpose of formation of such committees will not be served.
