Lucknow, June 16: Even though more than 36 hours have passed since Chander Mohan alias Chand Mohammad returned home, the former Assistant Advocate General of Haryana Anuradha Bali alias Fiza Mohammad is still unsure whether her husband deserves a pardon.
“Even as I want to forgive him on the insistence of my mother, I am apprehensive of his statements, considering the experience I have had over the recent past,” said the 37-year-old law graduate, while addressing a press conference outside her flat in Sector 48-C on Monday.
She added: “I still suspect he has returned to me as part of some conspiracy or game plan. He is, however, repeatedly seeking forgiveness for all his mistakes.”
Terming her relationship with Chand as “pious”, Fiza said: “Seeking and giving forgiveness both amount to greatness but who knows what’s conspiring in the other’s heart.”
The press conference, however, was not just a platform for mushy greetings as Fiza renewed her previous outbursts: “If he plans to repeat his past actions, the consequences will be more dangerous,” she warned.
Sitting alongside Fiza was the 43-year-old Congress legislator from Kalka, who appeared more relaxed and confident compared to his nervous look on Sunday.
“I have been seeking unconditional apology, but she still refuses to commit,” said Chand, while asserting that he will try his best to win over his “lost” love.
Denying charges of having called in supporters last night to “rescue” him, Chand said he had asked his supporters to come and help him counter the protest being staged by Shiv Sena activists outside Fiza’s flat last night.
“I am living with Fiza without any duress and at my own will,” said Chand.
Apprehending threat to their life over last night’s protest, the couple refused to seek police protection or lodge any complaint.
While Chand said “strong” woman like Fiza are enough for his safety, his partner dared anyone to create trouble in future.
“I will not spare anyone who stages a protest or disturbs our peaceful family in the future,” thundered Fiza.
POLICE PROTECTION Following last night’s unsuccessful abduction drama at Fiza;s residence, a PCR party has been temporarily stationed outside Fiza’s house.
