A senior Forest official was today arrested from here by Lokayukta Police for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a person to return an official favour.
The deputy ranger of Lalbarra range Sibru Warebar had demanded Rs 10,000 from Ashok Pardhi of Ankhiwada village for releasing his motorcycle impounded by the officer on September 17 from the forest area, Lokayukta DSP Madhuresh Pachouri told reporters.
On a tip-off Lokayukta Police laid a trap and caught Warebar red-handed, the DSP said, adding further
investigations are on.
