Jammu, February 23:The Forest department will plant 3.50 lakh saplings in Jammu region as part of its plantation drive, a state minister said today.
“The forest department is looking forward to plant 3.50 lakh saplings in Jammu. The saplings have been nurtured at various nurseries in controlled conditions to suit the environments and climatic conditions of these areas,” Forests and environment minister Mian Altaf Ahmed said.
The plantation drive, which started in January, would take place till this month’s end.
A target of distributing five lakh saplings have been set for the next year, the minister added.
