Foreigners playing key role in peddling drugs: CP

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma has said that foreign nationals were playing a pivotal role in distribution of psychosomatic substances (drugs) in the State capital.

Addressing a media conference here on Sunday, the city police chief said that special vigilance will be kept on the movement of foreign students in the city in consultation with universities and private colleges. He said that during the last one-and-a-half year, some 49 persons, including 18 foreigners were taken into custody in 18 cases for peddling drugs in the city.

Disclosing that the West Zone Police had raided a residence in the posh Jubilee Hills area on Saturday night where a Rave party was going on, Sharma said the one Donald of Uganda, Bandila Shailesh, Murali Krishna Susheel, Shruthi Glory Mukkera, Sakhi Subramanyam Chawla and two girls were arrested. He also said that one Nigerian Sameer, who was residing in Goa, had supplied the drugs for the Rave party. In the raid, the police have arrested the youth and seized 14 grams of cocaine, 10 grams LND cube, 10 micro LND pills, five gram MDMA at the Rave party, he added.

The Police Commissioner has appealed to the parents to keep a close watch on their adult children and see that they did not become slaves to psychosomatic drugs. (NSS)
