Foreign Minister Krishna to visit China

New Delhi, February 07: External Affairs Minister S M Krishna
will be paying a three-day visit to China from Tuesday in
continuation of high-level exchanges between the two
countries that were resumed after a short break last month
with Special Representatives talks on boundary issue here.

Mr Krishna’s visit is aimed at preparing the ground for
the visit of Chinese President Hu Jintao towards the end of
next month.

Mr Krishna will leave for Beijing tomorrow. He will meet his
counterpart Yang Jiechi in the capital, and also inaugurate the
new Chancery building.

Both the Ministers would discuss a wide range of bilateral,
regional and global issues during their meeting. Bilateral trade, global financial crisis, maritime security and the issue of the import of oil from Iran in the wake of US sanctions were likely to figure prominently in the talks between the two leaders,
sources said.
