Foreign currency worth Rs. 3.96 crore seized at Shamsabad Airport

Hyderabad: Customs Officials and the officials of South Zone Task Force in a joint operation seized foreign currency worth Rs. 3.96 crore at Shamsabad Airport.

According to the details of the case, a passenger who was making an attempt to go to Dubai through Emirate flight was arrested.

During the checking of his luggage, six bundles of foreign currency were found. Mr. A.K. Jain, Principal Commissioner of Customs, Ms. PAM Mehita, DCP of Customs and Ms. Mehta Kumar, Addl. DCP told the reporters that foreign currency in large quantities was being smuggled to Dubai.

On receiving a tip, Customs officials conducted the joint operation and foiled the smuggling of currency.
