New Delhi, August 10: Ford has launched the new Ikon iKool. According to the US Company its sophisticated design is matched with features and performance.
Nigel Wark is the executive director for marketing, sales and service at Ford India. He says, “The Ikon iKool is a fun to drive yet economical car. Its new feature rich persona along with legendary driving characteristics will appeal to the upwardly mobile and ambitious customers who want their car to complement their active lifestyles.”
Wark further explained, “The Ikon has proved its mettle and raised the bar in terms of dependability and fuel efficiency during the marathon ‘Ikon Cross Country Drive’ registering an extremely low cost of ownership which makes the iKool a phenomenal value vehicle that is feature rich, dependable and affordable.”
As for the interiors of the car, the Ikon iKool has remote keyless entry anti-theft, iPod compatible MP3 audio system as well as matching seat covers. The exteriors of the sedan have chrome deck lid appliqué, a spoiler, chrome deck lid and even the new iKool badging. Ford has stated that Ikon is reliable on Indian roads as their cross country ride, which just finished sometime ago, showed that it has a low running cost of Rs.1.39 per km and fuel economy of 28.54 kmpl (under real world conditions).
The Ford Ikon iKool will be available in India at their dealerships from August 12, 2009. The Duratorq TDCi 1.4 diesel variant will come with a price tag of Rs. 5.42 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) while the ROCAM 1.3 petrol engine variant has been priced at Rs. 4.82 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
