Hyderabad: Keeping in view the upcoming Ganesh festival, Cyberabad commissioner of police VC Sajjanar held a coordination
meeting with the GHMC, HMWS&SB, TSSPDCL, Revenue, R&B, Fire, RTA, Traffic Police, L&O Police, DMHO, Irrigation, Bhagya nagar Ganesh Utsav Committee members, among others at the Cyberabad police commissionerate on Wednesday.
The festival is scheduled to commence from October 2 and conclude on October 12 with the final immersion procession.
The Commissioner ordered the organisers to apply online through the Cyberabad police website www.cyberabadpolice.gov.in to acquire police permission for setting up idol.
They have to take NOC from the owner of the premises where the idol will be installed and the same has to be placed in such a way that it does not create an obstruction to traffic or create any other issue.
“Guidelines have been issued regarding safe electric wiring to avoid short-circuits and arrangement of parking places at particular distance from pandals to avert traffic congestions. No unauthorised electricity connections would be allowed for pandals. Usage of fireworks is strictly restricted.
Organisers should take permissions from the local PS for arranging loudspeakers. Box type sound systems should be used instead of DJ speakers and sound systems should not be used during the night between 10 pm and 6 am. Organisers should arrange at least three volunteers at
pandals at night time.
Those installing idols in the cellars of building complexes and those taking them out for processions would have to apply for clearance,” said the official.
The commissioner categorically stated that in the name of the festival, forcible collection of funds ‘chanda/haftha’ would not be allowed.
Speaking further about the procession preparation, he said that there are 29 tankers where immersion of idols takes place, 21 in GHMC limits, two in Medchal, and six in Ranga Reddy.
As many as 54 static cranes and 22 mobile cranes in GHMC limits and 43 static cranes and 14 mobile cranes in Medchal and Ranga Reddy districts will be deployed.
GHMC, West Zone Commissioner Hari Chandana Dasari and other various officials were present on the occasion.
