Hyderabad: Chief Secretary S P Singh today directed the officials to make fool-proof arrangements for 68th Republic Day celebrations at Secunderabad Parade Grounds on January 26.
The Chief Secretary held a high-level coordination review meeting with officials of all departments, Heads of departments and others and discussed on the smooth conduct of the Republic Day celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, Singh said Governor ESL Narasimihan will attend the occasion as chief guest at the Parade Grounds on January 26 and tight security arrangements have to be made by police and traffic wing to regulate traffic. Besides illuminating the main offices of the government, including Secretariat, Assembly buildings, Gun Park, Necklace Road, Clock Tower, Fateh Maidan, the GHMC staff will take up clean and green drive with mobile toilets, he said. He also said flower decoration at the main point of Parade Grounds should be made in a perfect manner and LED TVs be set up at selected places for live coverage, commentary, electricity and water supply.
RTC buses should be arranged for shifting the school students to the parade grounds, he said, adding that Ambulance and Fire tenders be pressed into service at the site.
