FOOD FOR THOUGHT FOR MUSLIMS

Masjid Qutub Shahi Imampura uninhabited

Hyderabad, November 14: Masjid Qutub Shahi Imampura is uninhabited. There is a graveyard adjacent to the mosque. If any believer goes there he would surely break into tears after seeing the condition of the mosque and graveyard and he would be forced to think over the fact that how the mosque and graveyard have reduced to rubble in the city which is called as “the city of mosques”.

Siasat daily has taken initiative to bring to the fore the mosques and waqf properties which have gone out of sight. During the endeavor it has been found that the 13 acre waqf land of the old mosque of Imampura and graveyard has almost been encroached upon. Local non Muslims with the conspiracy of waqf board staff and Muslims have constructed houses. Waqf board failed to protect the mosque and graveyard land despite the fact that the mosque is recorded in the waqf gazette.

The waqf record of the mosque is as follows: Hyd/924 Graveyard with Old Masjid No. 13-3-442 (S) (114), Imampura Ward (13) Area in Sq. yds. (13 acres), Ciaz-20-A, Sl-499 Gaz-Date- 17-05-1984 Page-4.
