Masjid Shaikh, Shaikhpet uninhabited
Hyderabad, September 24: The historical 400 year old Masjid Shaikh is situated at Shaikhpet cross road. The high towering minarets of the extremely beautiful mosque narrate its grandeur and the history of the city. But unfortunately neither the prayer is performed in this mosque nor Azan echoes from its towering minarets. We are so much dissociated from the religion that our feet seize on their own while heading for the mosque. The hearts have become so insensitive that heading for Allah’s house seems to be a great burden to us. Unfortunately the Masjid Shaikh is located amidst non Muslim population. A potter has constructed a kiln for making pots at the entrance of the mosque. Waqf gazette has a complete record of this mosque.
