The new ration cards would be replace white ration cards for families below poverty line (BPL), while
pink ration cards would cease to be eligible after FSC (Food Security Cards) are disbursed. Hyderabad
District Collector Mukesh Kumar Meena announced on Friday that the process of application for (FSC) in
the district would begin on October 13.
All those who wish to avail benefits provided with ration cards through fair price shops have to apply
afresh for the proposed Food Security Cards.
The collector said, applicants for Food Security cards (FSC) have to furnish details like name of the
head of the family (women members only), if available ,contact number,present address, gas connection
consumer number, Aadhaar Card number.
The collector said, “There are a total of 850 FPS in the district. Applicants have to write down their
details on a white paper and submit to the FPS dealer concerned. All these shops will operate as per their
regular timings.”
He explained that, Once the applications are received which will be helpful in tracking the status of the
application, the applicant will be given an acknowledgement receipt bearing a number.
He added “Further, there is also a provision where the applicants will receive an SMS apprising them
about the status of their application,”
