Lucknow, April 06: A day after several people fell ill after consuming food items prepared from adulterated buck wheat flour, the UP Police today arrested a supplier of the commodity in Ghaziabad district.
Om Prakash, the main supplier of “Kitchen Brand Kuttu Flour”, was arrested from Nehru Nagar and a case registered against him, Special Director General of Police Brij Lal told reporters here.
He said several people were taken ill in Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad and Noida after consuming eatables prepared from the contaminated flour yesterday.
An FIR had already been lodged against the owner of the “Kitchen Brand Kuttu Flour” in Dadri Police Station in Ghaziabad.
The factory was also sealed during a raid by the Food and Drug Authority yesterday.
The FDA teams also carried out raids in Badaun, Agra, Saharanpur, Bareilly, Meerut, Bulandshahar, Muzaffar Nagar and other districts.
