Follow traffic rules & save lives: Mahmood Ali

Hyderabad: Home Minister Mahamood Ali today appealed to youth, students and people to save lives by following traffic rules and avoid fatal accidents. Youth’s role is key in national development and their lives are precious which should not be lost in the fatal accidents, he said.

The Home Minister was participating as the chief guest at “Road Safety Week” program held at Saroornagar Stadium, attended by Tollywood actor N Kalyan Ram, Police officials Krishna Prasad, Jithendra, Mahesh Bhagawath and others. Speaking on the occasion, Mahamood Ali expressed grief that the 70 per cent of the fatal accidents involved youth. The youth, students and people have to follow rules and norms on the roads so that they can avoid accidents, he advised. The police wing was unable to take some steps to prevent the accidents and there was a need for awareness, he said, adding that the State government offers adequate funds and complete support to the Police department to check the accidents.

Actor Kalyan Ram said the people used to neglect traffic rules despite danger. “Negligence will lead to fatal accidents and I lost my elder brother in 2014 and father in 2018 in the road accidents”, he recalled. “Since life is more precious than anything else, the people must follow traffic rules and avoid signal jumping and police are for the people”, he added.
