Foggy Thursday morning in Delhi, flights affected

New Delhi: It was a foggy Thursday morning here with the minimum temperature recorded at 11.9 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season’s average.

An official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) told IANS that visibility early in the morning was less than 50 metres.

“The sky will remain clear during the day with moderate to dense fog in the morning,” the official said.

Poor visibility at Delhi and Mangalore affected Jet Airways and IndiGo airlines flights. Both airlines tweeted to cautions passengers.

“Please check your flight status,” Jet Airways said in a tweet.

“Few of our flights have been affected due to bad weather at Delhi,” said IndiGo airlines.

According to the weather office, the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 26 degrees Celsius and the humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 98 per cent.

Wednesday’s maximum temperature settled at 25.9 degrees Celsius, the season’s average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 11 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season’s average.
