New Delhi, January 06: Delhiites woke up to a foggy morning today with the minimum temperature plummeting to 5.6 degree Celsius due to icy winds blowing from the Himalayas. The sharp fall from yesterday”s minimum of 9.3 degree Celsius resulted in intense cold conditions in the morning.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 18.1 degree Celsius against yesterday”s 14 degree Celsius, which was the lowest for the season so far. The weatherman has predicted colder days ahead with mercury likely to drop further to touch 4 degree Celsius tomorrow while the maximum will hover around 21 degree Celsius with mist and shallow fog in the morning.
Northwesterly winds blowing from the Himalayas and snowfall in higher reaches of Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh led to a dip in the minimum temperature in the national capital, the Met office said.
