Emphasizing the need for rebuilding Telangana into a welfare State, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today asked the officials to prepare proposals of budget to cater to their needs.
In a high-level review meeting along with Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, Finance Minister Etela Rajender, State Planning Commission Vice-President Niranjan Reddy, Principal Secretaries and others, KCR asked them to prepare plans for three priority issues like poor’s welfare, Agriculture sector and steps to attract investments for industries and strengthen infrastructure in the State. KCR asked the bureaucrats to prepare complete budget to reflect government targets and aspirations to implement schemes and inform the people with all facts.
“It is an opportunity to the government to grab an opportunity to get more funds from the Centre which is adopting innovative ideas to transform India into a nation to surpass others in all sectors”, he maintained. KCR asked them to bring adequate funds from the Centre which is in favor of States’ development. Narendra Modi, who was chief minister and became Prime Minister, now understands better the problems of the States. Funds must be used for priority specific development and welfare, he said.
The Chief Minister also said Telangana State has abundant natural resources with better geographical conditions, environment to attract investments from global companies and businesses, he said. KCR also said the State which has resources, manpower, land mass, industries and IT giants can transform itself into a global destination by adopting innovative ideas. As the Centre is fnalising the new schemes, the State has to remodel the schemes to get them on time, he said. In the wake of private companies playing key role, market economy and changing global trends, the Modi Government came up with NITI Ayog replacing Planning Commission for transforming the nation into a global one, he said.
KCR touched upon pre and post independence era, movements, struggles and Telangana people, who took all pains and suffered many problems for decades. He asked the officials to focus on to make Telangana a power surplus State by 2018, besides addressing the woes of common man with all amenities. Giving pat to officials for working extra hours, KCR asked them to share, coordinate with adequate information for a paradigm shift to build a golden State of Telangana. (NSS)
