Rampur: Rajya Sabha MP Tanzeem Fatima on Sunday urged people to focus on the issues of cow, Ganga and Bhagwat Gita, and also announced that she will contribute Rs 25 lakh to a gaushala in Goverdhan under Mathura district.
“Main bhi gau sevak hu (I too serve cows),” Fatima, wife of Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan, told PTI over phone.
“He (Khan) has been championing the cause of cows and Ganga but now I call upon the secular forces to vigorously concentrate on Gau, Ganga and Gita,” she said. “Bhagwat Gita teaches us to live together peacefully, even in diversity…It is our commitment to serve cows, clean Ganga and disseminate the message of Gita,” Fatima added.
She claimed that eminent personalities had honored Khan at Sambhal recently for championing the cause of cows and for demanding a complete ban on bovine slaughter. Khan had recently said, “Ganga meri hai” (Ganga is mine) and had added that it is a concern of the state government to keep it clean and sacred. PTI
