Dubai, May 12: Low-cost Airline Flydubai said it would operate thrice-a-week to the Indian city of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, starting June 2.
This is the seventh new route announced in a month by the airline, which is in its first year of commercial operations.
The airline now fly to 20 destinations.The fare to Lucknow would be Dh 500 (one way).
”India represents an important market for us and we are delighted that the cooperation between Flydubai and the Indian authorities has resulted in the opportunity for Dubai’s first low-cost airline to bring our simple, uncomplicated, quality service to Lucknow,” company’s CEO Gaith Al Gaith said.
An estimated five million Indian expatriates live and work in the Gulf, with around one million in the UAE alone.
