Flustered CM discusses impact of Yatra on govt

Hyderabad, July 12: Even as YSR district (formerly Kadapa ) MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy continued on with his ‘Yatra’ of consolation and defiance, the state Congress on Sunday seemingly put its weight behind Chief Minister K Rosaiah.

At a meeting of his Cabinet colleagues in the morning, Mr Rosaiah is reported to have expressed his dissatisfaction over the reports that some senior Congress leaders, including two Ministers, were planning to participate in the Odarpu Yatra.

Meanwhile, in Srikakulam, Mr Jaganmohan Reddy did not name Mr Rosaiah when he lamented the decline of moral values in politics, especially after the death of his father.

He said that it is time that his political rivals stop playing politics over dead bodies.

The young Congress MP further alleged that the government was blocking ‘genuine desire’ of the party leaders who wanted to participate in the Yatra.

In Hyderabad, the Chief Minister is reported to have discussed how to counter allegations made by Mr Jaganmohan Reddy with Ministers Dharmana Prasad Rao, Vatti Vasant Kumar and Mr Gade Venkat Reddy.

According to sources, Intelligence personnel were keeping tabs on who was mobilising the large turnout of people who are greeting Mr Jaganmohan Reddy.

The reports of Intelligence officials taking a keen interest in the Yatra came after some Congress leaders demanded the source of funds being spent on the Yatra.
