Islamabad, November 23: At least 14 women have been killed and nine others injured in Pakistan’s northwestern town of Buner when the floor they sat on collapsed.
Some 50 women had gathered in a house to mourn the death of a man on Tuesday morning when the floor collapsed and they fell into a 12-feet deep septic tank.
Police officials told Press TV on Tuesday that some 14 of them were killed, adding that the death toll is expected to rise as most of the injured are reportedly in critical condition.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, officials added.
According to initial reports, the accident happened due to the weakness of the house’s pillars.
