Officials from the City Crime Branch’s (CCB) Women and Narcotics Wing have busted an alleged prostitution ring in the City involving Iranian women.
Bidhubhushan, the accused is a native from Orissa and was operating the prostitution ring. He started out with two pornography websites a couple of years ago. He was advertising the services on two websites.
A CCB officers went as a decoy and called on the number given on the website.The agent was called to a specific location where a trap was laid by CCB officers and arrested Bidhubhushan Mohapatra alias Rakesh alias John and two girls of Iranian nationality.
According to Investigations, an Iranian girl who is pursuing a dental course at a reputed college in the City made contact with him through the website and offered herself as a call girl and thus started a partnership of the two.
Later on, she allegedly lured many poor Iranian girls into the flesh trade and shared the earnings with Bidhubhushan on a 60:40 basis. Bidhubhushan, who had helped an Iranian girl arrive in the country, later impounded her passport and pushed her into flesh trade.
A case has been registered at the Hebbal police station.
