On Sunday, five people who include two students were arrested for attacking two constables in an inebriated condition at Malkaigiri.
The gang attacked the police when they tried to pull the plug on them from drinking on the railway platform. The police filed a case and sent them to judicial remand.
As per Inspector L.C. Naik, “Two constables were checking the Malkaigiri railway station platform. A group of five was found consuming liquor. The cops asked them to stop and go away. Then they attacked the cops,” The Inspector further said, that the cops were not injured.
However, as per the sources, the cops and the attackers were friends, and they had not asked the group to move away when they first saw them.
“When the cops came, the group invited them to join, but they went away. Afterwards, when they were returning, the group again invited the cops. The cops then asked them to leave and a scuffle broke out,” they said.
