New Delhi, January 20: A call girl racket was busted with the arrest of six accused, including five women, from east Delhi, police said Thursday.
“Four call girls and two pimps, including a woman, were arrested from Madhu Vihar Wednesday,” police said. The male pimp was identified as Gaurav Anand, 30.
Police said the arrested women, aged between 19-30 years, were from Delhi, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand and Nepal.
Acting on a secret information, a decoy customer struck a deal with Anand.
“Anand fixed the deal saying that girls were available on payment of Rs.7,000 near a car parked at Madhu Vihar,” said Ashok Chand, deputy commissioner of police (crime).
He added that police arrested them and seized the car. Chand said that Anand was earlier a driver in a call centre and came in contact with the woman pimp. Both had been running the call girl racket for the last three years.
They were running the racket in the east Delhi areas, including Patparganj, Ganesh Nagar and Vinod Nagar.
