Five persons rape minor girl in Palamau district

Medininagar: A minor girl was allegedly raped by five persons at Bhitarbandh village in Palamau district, police said today.

Five persons barged into the house of the girl, who was alone at home last night and allegedly raped her, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Hiralal Ravi said.

The accused even tried to strangulate her but the girl fell unconscious, the DSP said.

Suspecting that the girl has died, all the accused fled the scene following the incident.

The girl’s father found her senseless and rushed her to a nearby hospital, Ravi said adding that the girl narrated the incident on regaining her sense following treatment.

The girl has been sent for medical check-up in Medininagar Sadar Hospital here.

Acting swiftly on being informed of the incident, the police arrested two accused while hunt was on for other three, who are reported at large, the DSP added.

In an another incident, a six-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped in Kitadih Gwala patti area of Jamshedpur on Saturday, police said.

The girl was playing in front of her house when two teenaged sons of her landlord took her to a room and allegedly raped her, the sources said.

Later, two friends of the accused arrived and also raped her.

The girl narrated the incident when her parents returned home from work.

The matter was brought to the notice of the police on Monday evening.

Police said all the four accused have been arrested.
