Five persons commit suicide

In separate cases, five persons committed suicide due to different reasons.

A 26-year-old housewife, P Vasantha, committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling at her residence in Ellammabanda on Thursday night, according to Jagatgirigutta police limits. In a similar case, Bhooshamma, 65, died after consuming some unknown poison. She took the extreme step at her residence in Jeedimetla on Thursday night. She was immediately rushed to Gandhi Hospital where she was declared brought dead. Financial problems are suspected to be the reason behind suicide in both the cases.

In another case, K. Rajkumar, 36, a software engineer, committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling at his residence in Pragathi Nagar on Thursday night. According to KPHB police, the reasons that drove him to suicide are yet to be ascertained.

In a separate case, P Kishtamma, 45, of Medipally, who had consumed poison on September 5, died at the Gandhi Hospital on Friday. According to Medipally police, Kishtamma resorted to the extreme step along with her 25-year-old son Shekar allegedly due to family disputes. Shekar had succumbed on September 9.

In the last case, M. Lakshmamma, 45, died on the spot after setting herself ablaze at her residence in Kotwalguda of Shamshabad. According to RGIA Police, Lakshmamma resorted to the extreme step in inebriated condition. (INN)
