Amethi (Uttar Pradesh), May 8 (ANI): At least five people died in Amethi after consuming adulterated liquor. The victims fell severely ill and were rushed to a government hospital for treatment, but succumbed later. The sub divisional magistrate of Amethi, Matafer, said that officials were probing the incident andthat took place in the Mahona area. A relative of one of the deceased is said to have fetched the liquor from a nearby shop. Moonshine drinking is common in India, where the poor often succumb to cheap alcoholic drinks. (ANI)
