Ramallah, March 06: Five Palestinians were killed and two others injured crashing into an Israeli military vehicle near an Israeli settlement in the West Bank.
The crash occurred on Friday near the Ofra settlement in the Ramallah area of the West Bank.
“An inquest will be opened by the Israeli military and civilian police to determine liability in this accident,” a military spokesman said without providing any further details.
Earlier in the day, a Palestinian youth sustained serious head injuries after he was targeted with a rubber bullet fired by Israeli troops the West Bank village of Nabi Saleh.
Palestinians in the West Bank held demonstrations against Israeli military presence in the compound housing the al-Aqsa Mosque, the second holy site in the Muslim world, and Tel Aviv’s recent decision to add two shrines in the occupied West Bank to its list of its “national heritage sites.”
In East Al-Quds, Israeli soldiers attacked protesters with tear gas and stun grenades, wounding at least 60 Palestinians and arresting several others.
