Five Pakistani soldiers killed by Indian Army after ceasefire violation

Jammu & Kashmir: Five Pakistani soldiers were killed and six were injured in the firing across the LoC in Bhimber and Battal sectors of Jammu and Kashmir by the Indian Army on Thursday.

According to the Army on Thursday morning, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire along LoC in Rajouri and Poonch districts. They initiated open heavy mortar shelling and firing on forward posts. The crossfire has been on since morning and the Indian Army is “retaliating strongly and effectively”.

On the Indian side, one civil GREF labourer was killed, while two others, including a Border Security Force (BSF) head constable, were injured by the Pakistan Army.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has summoned the Indian deputy high commissioner over LoC firing by issuing a statement that India had resorted to “unprovoked” firing earlier in the day, which had allegedly injured three people.
