Five more arrested in Sambasivudu murder case

Nalgonda, April 10: The Nalgonda police today arrested five persons who were allegedly involved in the killing of TRS leader and former Naxalite Sambasivudu. They surrendered voluntarily, police said.

With this, police have taken into custody 10 members of a 12-member gang led by Nayeem, a renegade Naxal, in connection with the murder. Sambasivudu was hacked to death near Gokaram village in Valigonda mandal on the night of March 26 when he was going to Hyderabad.

Sambasivudu was once an active Naxalite, before he surrendered in 2009, and joined the TRS last year.

Bhongir DSP Yadagiri said the five who were taken into custody have confessed to their involvement in the murder. Police also seized a car from Vanasthalipuram.
