Five killed in Meerut to avenge murder

Meerut, March 03: Five people were killed and bodies thrown into the Ganga apparently to take revenge of a murder at Mirzapur-Khaddar village here, an official said today.

Police teams have been formed to investigate the multiple murder that took place yesterday. Bodies are yet to be fished out from the river, District magistrate Bhuvanesh Kumar said.

Previous enmity over a murder and a land dispute are believed to be possible cause of the offence, a police officer said.

Searches were conducted at the houses of the suspects, but no one was arrested, DIG Akhil Kumar said.
