Five persons, including two women, were killed and 31 injured tonight when a private mini-bus fell into a 200-feet deep gorge near Kothagiri-Mettupalayam road, about 50 Kms from here, police said.
The bus, on its way to Kottakambai from Kothagiri, was carrying more passengers than the number permitted due to which the driver lost control of the vehicle, police said.
Rescue operations are still on, they said.
