New Delhi, Dec 05: Three members of a family and two technicians received burn injuries when an IGL gas pipeline burst while being connected at a house in Dwarka on Thursday evening.
The Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connection was being installed in the Dwarka Sector-5 house of Pradeep Bhatnagar when the mishap took place.
Bhatnagar’s wife Rashmi received 22 per cent burns, father Sushil Kumar 15 per cent burns and teenaged son Pulkit was also injured, according to the police.
The two technicians, Anurag and Ram Karan, are also in hospital, both with 20 per cent burns.
Pulkit, 16, told on Friday that though the family moved into the eighth-floor flat a month ago, the PNG connection from Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) arrived only on Thursday.
As the technicians were fitting the pipe in, the kitchen turned into “a ball of fire”, he said.
