Chamba (HP), February 14: Five people, including a local environmental activist, were wounded when some unidentified persons fired at them near Sillaghrat, about 15 km from here today, police said.
Environmentalist Rattan Chand Sharma, who is associated with the ‘Saalghati Bachao Sangharsh Morcha’, was among those shot at and injured, Superintendent of Police Madhu Sudan said.
They have been admitted to the regional hospital here, he said.
Sharma has been opposed to the proposed 4.5 MW Hul hydroelectric project in the district, the SP added.
