Hyderabad, February 28: The police on Sunday arrested five persons for allegedly leaking the question paper of the all India examination for the post of Assistant Administrative Officer in the Life Insurance Corporation of India, scheduled for Sunday.
Two sets of question papers, six mobile phones and Rs.6,000 in cash were recovered from the accused persons. The arrested have been identified as Yogeswar Kumar Rao (30) of Uttar Pradesh, P. Ashok Kumar (30) of Gandhinagar, B. Anna Rao (36) of Tukaramgate, Perla Srinivas (38) of Vijayawada and Gundla Srinivas (34) of West Godavari district.
Police said the kingpin, Yogeswar, working as a teacher in Uttar Pradesh, procured question papers through his friend, Lal Bahadur, of Lucknow. Bahadur got the papers from his NOIDA-based relative Deendayal working in the government printing press.
After receiving the question papers, Yogeswar contacted Ashok asking him to get in touch with candidates appearing for the examination. Both Yogeswar and Ashok came in contact in 2006 when the latter came to Bhopal along with some candidates appearing for the Railway Recruitment Board exam. Since then, Yogeswar was in touch with Ashok, police said.Ashok then approached his agents, Anna Rao, Perla Srinivas and Gundla Srinivas, who had identified candidates appearing for the LIC exam. Yogeswar came to the city by flight and later went to Vijayawada on Friday and struck a deal with the aspirants. DCP (Task Force) V. B. Kamalasan Reddy said the gang members were collecting Rs.5 lakh to Rs.7 lakh from aspirants.
