Five held for trying to transport banned sexual drug

The Cyberabad East Zone SOT sleuths, along with Keesara police, on Monday nabbed five offenders and seized Methamphetamine drug, which was about to be transported to Chennai. The cops also seized raw material and drug making machines at their instance.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner CV Anand, in a pressnote here stated that the accused I. Ramesh, 34, of Medipally, Santosh Kumar, 27, of Bommalaramaram of Nalgonda, B. Anil, 33, of Kothapet, Roshan, 33, of Sanjeeva Nagar in Bhongir of Nalgonda district and K. Ramchander, 34, of Shamshabad were taken into custody for preparing and supplying Methamphetamine drug, which is banned under NSPA Act. Effects of the drug: Methamphetamine is a banned drug under the NDPS Act. The CP stated the drug is a highly addictive and more dangerous than Cocaine and Morphine. It is used for increasing sexual desire, lift the mood and increase energy of the users. The drug is lethal which may cause instant death of the user, he added.

The Cyberabad police chief stated that on receipt of information that some persons are transporting banned drug to Chennai, SOT along with Keesara police intercepted one Santosh Kumar, who was carrying the drug to be transported to Chennai. The accused led the police to a factory/lab situated in Rampally village under Keesara police limits where the cops arrested the principal accused I. Ramesh and his accomplices B. Anil, Roshan, and K. Ramchander. The cops also seized 13.5 kg finished drug which was confirmed as Methamphetamine, 60 kg of raw material Tartaric Acid, 800 gram wet Methamphetamine drug, a Laptop, cellphones and drug making apparatus from the lab. The drug is worth Rs 40 to 50 lakh per a kg in the international market and the total value of the drug and the raw material seized was Rs 7 crore.

The arrests were made under the direct supervision of C.V.Anand and under the guidance of E. Ramchandra Reddy, Addl DCP, by K. Narsing Rao, N. Ch. Ranga Swamy, Inspectors, P. Anjaneyulu, A. Ramulu, staff of SOT East and P. Guruva Reddy, Inspector, Keesara P.S. (NSS)
