New Delhi, October 14: Five persons were arrested in the national capital for allegedly attempting to withdraw Rs 15 lakh from the account a person using forged documents, police said today.
The arrested were identified as Anil Kumar (32), Gaurav (25), Sunder (30), Dinesh (28) and Harish (22), Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) H G S Dhaliwal said.
The arrests came following a complaint by Vinay Verma of Safdarjang Enclave regarding withdrawal of Rs 15 lakh from his account in HDFC Bank in Connaught Place by some cheats who applied for transfer of the money to another account.
“The gang forged documents in the name of Verma and by submitting the same they got opened a fictitious account in the name of complainant in Development Credit Bank, Kondli branch,” Dhaliwal said.
