Hyderabad, May 30: Five members of a family from Coimbatore, including two women, were killed and three others injured when the car carrying them dashed against a stationary vehicle after overturning in Chittoor district, police said. The incident occurred at Mamadugu village at midnight when the family was on its way back to Coimbatore, they said.
The deceased were identified as P Anantaram (65), his wife Bhagyamma (60), K Murali Krishna, B Mahalakshmi and Balaji, who was driving the car, a police officer said, adding three others who suffered injuries in the incident were rushed to a hospital and their condition was out of danger. “It seems the car was being driven at a high speed and the driver lost control over the vehicle after which it turned upside down before hitting a stationary Scorpio,” the police officer said.
