Five bullet proof vehicles to police in each district

In the wake of the killings of the alleged terrorists of SIMI namely Aijazuddin and Mohammed Aslam in police encounter at Janakipuram in Nalgonda district, Intelligence Agencies expressed apprehension that the SIMI activists may attack police officials to take revenge of the killings of their co-workers. After this Intelligence information, State police has become alert and a special scheme has been prepared for the protection of district police officials.

Police sources indicated that CM has been apprised of this scheme. A decision has been taken to provide five blood proof vehicles in each of the Telangana districts.

It may be noted that police killed two SIMI activists in an encounter at Janakipuram on 4th April. During the exchange of firing, a Sub-Inspector of police Shaik Siddiah and a Home Guard were killed. It was alleged that on 2nd April, the two SIMI activists had opened fire on police party on 2nd April at Suryapet bus stop in which constable Lingaiah and Home Guard Mahesh were killed whereas Inspector Moghaliah and Home Guard Kishore were injured.

In order to protect the police staff in the district from the attacks of terrorists, police decided to provide bullet proof vehicles, jackets and other latest weapons to policemen. It was alleged that Aijazuddin and Aslam who were SIMI activists had escaped from Khadwa Jail of Maharastra in 2013. The remaining 3 SIMI activists who escaped from the jail are absconding and they are wanted by police. Police has an apprehension that the SIMI activists may attack policemen to take revenge of their fellow comrades.
