As many as 36,434 or 7.38% of registered candidates abstained on the first day of intermediate examination held across the Telangana State on Monday.
According to Board of Intermediate Education (BIE), of 455,713 candidates in General and 37,905 candidates in Vocational categories, about 7.38% abstained from appearing for Telugu paper –I, Sanskrit paper-I, Hindi Paper-I, Urdu Paper – I or Arabic Paper – I. A total of five cases of malpractice have been booked against the candidates.
The BIE had sent Observers to Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad Districts. The examination has been conducted peacefully without any untoward incident, the board said in a press release.
