Five arrested for thefts at mobile stores

New Delhi, April 10: Police today claimed to have solved various cases of theft in mobile stores in posh South Delhi localities with the arrest of five burglars.

The arrested accused have been identified as Irfan Alam, Mohammed Shamshed, Jahir Hussain, Abdul and Munna Shah, the police said.

“43 expensive mobile phones worth lakhs of rupees, 40 stolen mobile phone batteries, two hi-tech large size cutters used for breaking open the locks, shutters and three house breaking implements have also been recovered,” the police said.

The gang was being run by “notorious” Jugnu alias Bihari which had committed hundreds of burglaries in Delhi and NCR region, the police said in a press release.

“With their arrest, around 25 fresh incidents of burglaries, mobile shops break in, and house theft reported in various areas of South, South East Delhi have been solved,” it said.
