Fishermen coop. societies resent Mopidevi arrest

Fishermen’s cooperative societies have expressed displeasure over the arrest of Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao by the CBI on Thursday. They alleged that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana had conspired and targeted the leader of fishermen, leaving all the other ministers, who were responsible for several scams. They said they would launch an agitation against the arrest of Mopidevi.

BC leader R Krishnaiah also took a serious exception over the arrest of Mopidevi. He said that it was actually the high caste ministers, who were resorting to irregularities and getting the BCs arrested. He said that by arresting Mopidevi, he said CBI’s credibility was getting damaged. He said that it was improper on the part of the CBI to arrest some and leave others. (NSS)
