Fish merchant robbed by bike-borne robbers

Bengaluru: In a peculiar incident, a fish merchant was robbed of his Rs.2.8 lakhs by two bike-borne men this Sunday night.

According to reports, the incident took place at BRV Junction in Cubbon Park police limits and the victim- fish merchant is identified as Prabhu from Tamil Nadu, DC reported.

The police said Prabhu was on his way to home carrying Rs 2.80 lakh cash in a bag. And upon reaching BRV Junction, the two robbers waylaid his bike and stabbed Prabhu before they fled the scene with the cash bag.

Injured Prabhu was spotted writhing in pain by a passerby who rushed him to a hospital.

Now the Cubbon Park police are examining the CCTV footage from nearby spots to nab the robbers.

The police said that the robbers must have known Prabhu is in the city to collect his money from the buyers to who he supplies fresh fish.

In a similar incident, a bike-borne man was robbed of his gold chain by three other men who came on a bike and waylaid him.

The victim, Praveen is reported to be a resident of Kalidasa Nagar in Kengeri and was heading home after finishing work when the incident occurred.

When he reached Mallasandra near BDA Layout, the three men waiting for their prey, stopped him and threatened to kill him.

Since Praveen had no cash, the robbers took away his gold chain and mobile phone.
