Hyderabad: The annual fish medicine will be administered at Exhibition Grounds in Nampally from 9.30 am on June 8 to 9 .30 am on June 9. The medicine which is administered through live fish is claimed to cure asthma and other respiratory illnesses. The Bathini family has been administering the medicine to asthma patients free of cost for more than 175 years now since 1845.
Bathini Harinath Goud told in a press conference that fish medicine is given on the day of Mrigasira Karti, which marks the onset of monsoon according to Hindu calendar.
Nearly four lakh patients turn up to have the medicine. The medicine is inserted into the mouth of a live fish, which is then slipped into the throat of a patient.
