Last week, a 19-year-old girl was gang-raped at Siddipet town.The incident came to light after the parents of the girl lodged complaint on Friday.
As per Circle Inspector Ch Deva Reddy, the girl, a first-year degree student, got a call from her boyfriend Ramesh and went to Siddipet to meet him. Ramesh gave her a soft drink which was laced with some intoxicant. The girl was then raped by Ramesh and his friends. He then took her to Marredpally and locked up her at an off the beaten path location for several days.
Parents said that they got worried when she stopped answering her mobile phone from February 14 evening and lodged a complaint at Vemulawada police station.
Based on her cell phone data, police traced the girl to a location in Marredpally police station limits.
