First war of Independence: Here’s how Muslim Ulemas were killed after the revolt of 1857

UP: The revolt of 1857 which is also sometimes called the first war of independence was the turning point in the Indian history. After this revolt, India came directly under the Queen of Britain.

It may be mentioned that before 1857, India was ruled by the British East India Company.

It is alleged that Capt. Hudson who won many areas after the revolt wrote that British reportedly asked him to kill Muslims with a beard and religious cap without conducting any enquiry.

The situation of Allahabad was so devastating that there was no tree as they were either used for the cremation of Hindus or burial of Muslims.

It is also alleged that Muslims ulemas who gave fatwa against pork were forced to eat it after the revolt.
