Coimbatore, December 04: The first product from the newly set up Defence and Rail and metro division of BEML in Kanjikode near Palakkad in Kerala, is scheduled to be rolled out in March 2010, a top official said today.
The Division has already started construction of building and other infrastructure facilities on the premises, which would be ready by middle of March next and the product would be launched within a few days, H S Prakash, Chief General Manager, Rail Coach Division, BEML, said here.
Prakash and other senior company officials, including H S Ranganath, Deputy General Manager, Corporate Purchase, were here to rope in vendors for outsourcing different assemblies, particularly castings and fabrication from the ISO-9000 certified companies in and around Coimbatore.
